Special Olympics Massachusetts was thrilled to receive a generous donation of an Automatic External Defibrillator, or AED for short, from our friends at PrepMD. Matt O’Neal and Robert Mattioli, both of whom are Managing
Partners over at the company, stopped by our facility to present the machine to SOMA. They also gave a short tutorial on the device so that we know how to use it and so we are prepared in the event that anyone in our facility suffers from sudden cardiac arrest.
The device is going to be kept in the fitness room at the Yawkey Center so that it will be easily accessible in case of an emergency. This is a great gift because it helps in our mission of creating more healthy lives for our athletes. Hopefully the AED will never need to be used, but now, thanks to the donation, we are always prepared to help out our athletes!
